The high school for kids in Fulton has been closed for years and now is getting a new lease on life.
The city of Fulton is partnering with Liberty High School to open a new high school in its hometown.
The city says the school is on schedule to open in the spring of 2021.
The new school will be located in Fulton’s Liberty Square neighborhood and will have an enrollment of 200 students.
Liberty is the only high school to be built in Fulton since the city of New Orleans shut it down in the late 1980s.
The former school has since become a community center, and the new school has been a focal point for community outreach efforts.
As part of the project, the city is planning to install LED lighting that will allow students to stay on campus during the day.
There will also be a cafe at the new highschool to serve as a social hub and to host special events.
